2. Product Authenticity and Representation

2.1 Authenticity Guarantee

All timepieces sold by The Rare Corner are guaranteed to be 100% authentic. We sell only original luxury watches from reputable manufacturers.

2.2 Independent Retailer Status

The Rare Corner operates as an independent dealer and is not an authorized dealer, official distributor, or affiliated entity of any watch brand featured on our website. We do not manufacture watches under our own brand. All products are sourced from trusted suppliers and verified for authenticity prior to listing.

2.3 Product Condition

All watches are accurately described on our website with detailed photographs and condition reports. Vintage and pre-owned timepieces may exhibit signs of previous wear, including minor scratches, patina, or age-related characteristics. Such characteristics are disclosed in product descriptions and do not constitute defects.

3. Pricing and Payment

3.1 Pricing

All prices displayed on our website are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time of purchase confirmation.

3.2 Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

Wire Transfer (Advance Payment)

  • Full payment must be received before shipment
  • Please include the item reference number with your transfer
  • Processing time: 1-2 business days for domestic transfers; up to 5 business days for international transfers
  • All bank fees and transfer charges are the responsibility of the buyer

Cash Payment

  • Accepted currencies: USD, HKD, EUR
  • Available for in-person transactions only
  • Prior arrangement required

3.3 Reservation Deposit

For certain high-value timepieces, we offer a reservation system:

  • A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total purchase price is required to reserve an item
  • The validity period of the reservation will be agreed upon between both parties at the time of deposit
  • Full payment must be received before the expiration of the reservation period
  • If full payment is not received by the agreed deadline, the deposit will be forfeited and the item will be released for sale
  • The remaining 70% balance must be paid via wire transfer or other agreed payment method

3.4 Payment Confirmation

No order will be processed or shipped until payment has been received and cleared in our account.

4. Taxes, Duties, and Import Regulations

4.1 Customer Responsibility

Buyers are solely responsible for all import duties, taxes, customs fees, VAT, and any other charges imposed by their country or region of residence. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping costs.

4.2 Customs Clearance

We recommend contacting your local customs office or tax authority prior to purchase to understand applicable fees. The Rare Corner is not responsible for any delays, seizures, or additional costs resulting from customs procedures.

4.3 CITES Compliance (Endangered Species)

Certain watch straps (particularly exotic leathers such as crocodile, alligator, lizard, or python) may be subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

Buyers must:

  • Verify whether their country requires CITES permits for import
  • Obtain all necessary permits prior to shipment
  • Understand that improperly declared goods may be withheld or confiscated by customs

The Rare Corner will provide documentation as required, but import compliance is the buyer’s responsibility.

5. Invoicing Requirements

To complete your purchase, we require the following documentation:

Individual Buyers:

  • Clear copy of government-issued photo identification (passport or national ID card, front and back)
  • Proof of residential address (utility bill, bank statement, or official document dated within 3 months)

Corporate Buyers:

  • Certificate of company registration
  • VAT number (for intra-EU purchases) or company registration number
  • Registered business address
  • Authorized signatory identification

These requirements are necessary for compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and international trade laws.

6. Shipping and Delivery

6.1 Worldwide Shipping

The Rare Corner ships to most destinations worldwide. However, we reserve the right to decline shipments to regions experiencing political instability, conflict, or where secure delivery cannot be guaranteed.

6.2 Shipping Costs

Standard shipping, packaging, and insurance coverage up to USD 100,000 are included in the purchase price for most items. Additional insurance may be arranged for higher-value purchases.

6.3 Delivery Timeframes

  • Hong Kong: 1-2 business days
  • International: 3-10 business days (depending on destination and customs clearance)

Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to customs processing, remote locations, or courier circumstances beyond our control.

6.4 Tracking and Notification

Once your order ships, you will receive an email containing:

  • Shipment confirmation
  • Tracking number
  • Link to the courier’s tracking portal
  • Estimated delivery date

6.5 Insurance and Claims

All shipments are fully insured against loss, theft, or damage during transit. In the event of such an incident:

  • The Rare Corner will immediately file a claim with the courier and insurance provider
  • An investigation will be conducted according to insurance policy terms
  • If the claim is approved, reimbursement will be processed to the buyer
  • Processing time for claims is determined by the insurance provider and may take several weeks
  • The Rare Corner does not provide advance reimbursement before claim resolution

6.6 Delivery Acceptance

Upon delivery, buyers must inspect the package immediately. Any visible damage to the exterior packaging should be noted with the courier and reported to us within 24 hours.

7. Return Policy and Right of Withdrawal

7.1 Inspection Period

Buyers have three (3) business days from the date of delivery to exercise their right of withdrawal.

7.2 Return Conditions

To qualify for a return:

  • The watch must be in the same condition as delivered
  • All original packaging, papers, boxes, and accessories must be included
  • The watch must not have been worn, altered, or damaged
  • No additional scratches, marks, or signs of use may be present

7.3 Vintage and Pre-Owned Items

Vintage and pre-owned watches are sold in “as-is” condition as depicted in our photographs and described in the product listing. Minor imperfections, scratches, patina, and age-related wear that were disclosed are not grounds for return.

7.4 Return Process

  • Contact our customer service team within the 3-day period to initiate a return
  • We will provide return shipping instructions
  • The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs, insurance, and any applicable re-import taxes or duties
  • The item must be shipped with full insurance coverage equal to its purchase value

7.5 Refund Processing

Upon receipt and inspection of the returned item:

  • If the watch is in its original condition, a full refund will be issued within 5-7 business days
  • If the watch shows signs of wear, damage, or missing components, the refund will be reduced by the cost of restoration or replacement
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method

7.6 Non-Returnable Items

The following cannot be returned:

  • Custom orders or specially sourced watches
  • Items damaged due to buyer negligence
  • Watches returned after the 3-business-day window

8. Warranty and Service

8.1 Warranty Coverage

Unless otherwise stated in the product description:

  • New watches may include manufacturer’s warranty (where applicable)
  • Vintage and pre-owned watches are sold without manufacturer warranty
  • The Rare Corner provides a limited warranty covering mechanical function for 12 months from delivery

8.2 Warranty Exclusions

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, case wear, strap deterioration)
  • Water damage resulting from improper use
  • Damage from impacts, drops, or accidents
  • Service or repairs performed by unauthorized third parties
  • Cosmetic issues that were disclosed in the original listing

8.3 Service and Repairs

We can arrange servicing and repairs through qualified watchmakers. Service costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless covered under warranty.

9. Special Requests and Sourcing

If you are seeking a specific timepiece not currently listed in our inventory, we offer sourcing services. Contact us with details of your desired watch, and our team will conduct a search through our network of suppliers. Sourcing is subject to availability and market conditions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Rare Corner’s liability is limited to the purchase price of the product
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • We are not responsible for losses resulting from shipping delays, customs issues, or force majeure events
  • Buyers assume all risk once the item is delivered and signed for

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your purchase shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We use your data solely for:
